1221 Broadway Lofts

Well, it's quite obvious 1221 Broadway Lofts gets its name because it sits right on the corner of 12th Street. Also, the name has a nice urban-ring to it. I dig it.

1221 Broadway Lofts was initially a large industrial building that was redesigned as an apartment complex. It is a large facility with over 40 floor plan ranging from studio to 2 bedroom apartments with high 10-foot ceilings and concrete walls. It is considered a luxury apartment to tailor to its upscale environment.

Amenities

They have state-of-the-art amenities with resort-style pools, yes plural.

Rooftop pool with an impeccable view of the Riverwalk, Museum Reach, and downtown skyline. The adjacent rooftop lounge is super cozy and the furniture feels like you are in a Malibu beach house.

Ground Pool

There are other courtyards throughout the building:

Zen garden

Two BBQ yards

One with two grills and a covered picnic patio.

The other is a long, large concrete grill with a long king's table great for large parties. Our unit was located in this courtyard, so we frequent BBQs here.

They also have two gyms, one next to the rooftop pool with mostly gym equipment and some weights, and another is a weights/crossfit room located on the ground level parking lot.

Parking is never an issue because it is equipped with its own 5-story-above-ground level parking garage.

Social Life

1221'ers live the life of luxury, well, because the staff makes sure you do. They tend to your needs and answer questions as quickly as possible. Turnaround time for maintenance issues is barely a day---they take care of you immediately.

There are MANY social events organized by 1221 specifically for their residents either in-house or at different locations, and they know how to make sure you have a good time. Some of the events were at the Tower of the Americas, Rosella at the Rand, TNT (they closed down, bummer. I actually liked that place), Alamo Distillery, Howl at the Moon, to name a few---all courtesy of 1221! Spoiled!

We had a small studio apartment and kept furnishing to a minimalistic appeal. As small as the bedroom may look, we were able to fit a king-size bed with a good amount of space left in the room. Also, we didn't really want to clutter our apartment since it's such a small place. The view is absolutely amazing. We had a large sliding door and a julienne balcony overlooking the SATX skyline.

I am going to miss this place. We had a hell of a time living here. It's time to move on to bigger things. We bought a house, brand new, and in the process of choosing our upgrades (I'll write about that whole process soon).

If you're looking for that luxurious, urban vibe, 1221 Broadway Lofts is the place to live.
